The Porto Basketball Association and Trust, a healthcare provider, have renewed the collaboration protocol signed a year ago, the principal beneficiaries of which are the basketball players and other sporting agents of our community.
The formal signing of the agreement took place last Sunday, before the men's final of the ABP Trust Final, at the CDC Matosinhos, and was attended by Dr Manuel Albano, President of the Board of AB Porto, and Dr Marta Araújo, CEO of Trust.
The fundamental principle behind this connection is the utmost concern, on both sides, for the health of athletes, coaches and others involved in the world of basketball, more specifically in physical rehabilitation, but recognising, too, that injury prevention and the improvement of players' performance encompass initiatives that, in recent years, have gained considerable prominence within the sporting community. The promotion of this kind of superior-quality care, on more advantageous financial terms, is one of the strands of this union.
This partnership provides for the retention of the naming rights to the ABP Trust Final, in the Under-18, Under-16 and Under-14 age groups for both sexes; the offer of a physical assessment for the six MVPs of the ABP Trust Final; a schedule of services at reduced prices and more advantageous terms for the engagement of a physiotherapy professional for our association's various events; as well as the ongoing support of the ABP teams at the Youth Basketball Festivals, as has been customary in recent years. Indeed, in Albufeira, one of the greatest stages for youth sport in Portugal, the ABP athletes will bear the Trust logo on their shirts.
